I'm proud to call myself a Vancouver Island resident!  I think the greater Victoria region is the best and one of the most liveable communities across Canada!  It's not just the year-round green grass and fresh sea air.  It's the relaxed pace, the diverse landscape, feelings of safety and sense of community and pride. Having spent 35+ cold years in Edmonton, Alberta, I feel qualified making this claim!
