Sidney
Picturesque Sidney is a delightful seaside community 20 minutes North of downtown Victoria. A flat and paved 3.6km of waterfront walkways end with a vibrant main street. Sidney conjures up images of a movie-set with an old-town feel with bakeries, galleries, bookstores, restaurants and shops leading to a waterfront outdoor auditorium. With seasonal night markets, a busy marina, Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre, a 420ft fishing pier, boutique waterfront hotel, and a few distilleries and breweries nearby, Sidney is the perfect place to spend an afternoon, or a lifetime.
BC Ferries and the Victoria Airport are a quick (5 minute) drive away, and the Anacortes Ferry (shuttered during Covid--and rumored to be re-opening 2025ish) make Sidney a convenient home-base for your travelling adventures.
Whale watching tours are available in town, and a seasonal passenger ferry to nearby Sidney Island are great activities for those wanting to explore the area or show off to visiting friends.
